Why I Started This Blog
Hi, I am Chief. As of writing this, I have just finished my dissertation and I will be graduating in a month. So with more time on my hands now this feels like a good time to start sharing a bit more openly about what I am working on and what I am interested in. Something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now.
Why Not Just LinkedIn
LinkedIn is great for quick updates, but I wanted something more complete. I wanted a place to share code snippets, images, and proper explanations rather than short posts about what I did or learned. This blog gives me that space.
What I Will Write About
I will mainly be writing about technology, especially software development, and probably a lot about the projects I am working on. I have always enjoyed writing out my progress, and this felt like a good way to turn that into something useful.
In a way, this blog also works as an extended CV: a place to show what I am building, what I am learning, and how I am improving over time.
Maybe that’s the cue to finally adding that CV download feature.
DevOps Focus, HCI Roots
At the moment, I am specialising in DevOps, so a lot of the posts and projects here will probably lean toward backend work. That said, I come from an HCI and UI development background, so I still really enjoy building software that looks good and feels intuitive to use.
Learning by Building
I often start new projects just to get experience with different technologies. That is part of the fun for me, learning by building.
Ideas for the Future
Going forward, I will mostly be posting about the progress I make on projects. In the future, I would like to add a few more features to this website too, like the ability to like and comment on posts, and maybe even a CMS integration such as Sanity. For now though, this site is still just a static frontend, and maybe I will get around to building those features one day.
And just to clarify, the server status popout is not fake! Having moved the site to my VPS, It loads the data whenever the site container is rebuilt instead of being live.
Say Hello
I’m just a message or an email away. Always up for feedback or just a quick chat.
Look forward to seeing you around!
